Dr. Robinson J. Alexis, Chiropractor
Dr. Alexis was born in Haiti, and came to the United States when he was 7 years old. He grew up in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and in 2002, moved to Illinois to further his education. Dr. Alexis received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) in 2008.
On January 10, 2010 a magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck Haiti, killing more than 230,000 people, and wounding many more. Saddened by this tragic event, Dr. Alexis returned to Haiti to aid in the relief effort. During his time in Haiti, Dr. Alexis served as a bridge, translating between English and Creole for his native people and the many American volunteers.
While in Haiti, Dr. Alexis met an individual who changed his life. This life impacting individual was a chiropractor; “I watched him help so many people and the only tools he had were his hands” recalls Dr. Alexis. Upon returning to States side, Dr. Alexis attended the Palmer College of Chiropractic, where in 2014 he received his Doctorate of Chiropractic. Now Dr. Alexis is using these skills to change lives, with his hands.
As a chiropractor, my goal is to identify how the body is being impacted by daily life events and correct the imbalances that lead to the early degeneration and increased risk for injury and illness. I look for abnormalities even in the areas where there is no pain, then address those abnormalities to increase my patient’s quality of life.
Jim Flaherty, Owner of Dupage Health and Wellness
What started out as a business venture for Jim Flaherty has turned into a passion for helping people.
Jim's focus turned to alternative health after watching his grandson, born with down syndrome, struggle for over 5 years with a variety of immune issues. Jim began researching alternatives that might benefit his grandson and bridge the gap between alternative and traditional medicine. What he found and implemented is the cornerstone of what DuPage Health & Wellness is known for today and the reason that over 3,000 referred patients struggling with food and environmental allergies and sensitivities, feel better than they have in years.
Jim’s journey in the clinic management area was preceded by over 30 years in marketing and public relations; hotel management; and incentive and meeting management for Whirlpool, Sears, McDonald’s and Lipton to name a few. His exit from the Corporate world is consistent with his focus on family and helping others lead a healthy, more productive lives.
